YOGA ACCORDING TO WHO YOU ARE AND HOW YOU ARE
Many people are surprised when I tell them that I have been practicing and studying yoga for ten years. They are surprised because their “mental label” about yoga does not correspond to what they perceive in me. In this idea, yoga is usually synonymous with calm, tranquility, softness, tenderness, sweetness … and I am also very much the opposite: strength, energy, motivation, drive, impatience …
We believe that we know something about yoga or any other topic when we have not even tried it. We believe that we know about it because we have associated ideas that we take for granted and that we consider real. It is difficult to face something as if we are a blank page, willing to simply observe, experience and receive.
We do not practice yoga because we are flexible or we are in a state of mindfulness we are flexible, calm and serene thanks to the fact that we practice yoga. The more nervous you are, the less flexibility you have, the more yoga you need. And it is also that, as in music, in yoga we find different styles and ways of practicing, thus being a practice adaptable to almost any circumstance and condition.
